Birmingham – Gourmet Destination

Birmingham from the southBirmingham food lovers will be hoping the recent good weather extends a bit longer when the city’s International Food Fair returns from June 9th until June 19th with around 140 stalls from around the world coming together in New Street, Victoria Square and Chamberlain Square.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try different specialties and flavours from countries throughout Europe as well as further afield such as Australia and the Far East. Whether your fancy is for exotic dry fruits from Iran, pastries from Austria, Thai noodles, or fine French bread, cheeses and wine, you will find these and many more to sample and buy to take home.

The best of British will also be represented with traditional produce and locally brewed drinks and food from local restaurants with a Regional Food Fair and includes local cheeses, ostrich burgers and traditional pork scratching from the Black Country.

Birmingham City Council leader Cllr Mike Whitby says: “The International Food Fair is a summer sister to our now world famous Frankfurt Christmas Market and we’re confident that in time this event can be just as big.

“The Fair perfectly showcases our multicultural city to visitors from across the globe, enhancing Birmingham’s reputation as a destination city.”

An outdoor seating area and licensed bar will provide visitors with the space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, with live performances and music during the evenings. The Fair will be open from 10am-9pm every day.
