Originality is the key on Friday evening.
Friday 22nd October will see Birmingham Jazz presenting saxophonist George Luft with Original Trio at 1,000 Trades.
This format comprises of George, Rob Luft on guitar and Tim Giles on drums, playing George’s original music. In performance, the trio cover a diverse territory, with the music predominantly being driven by very strong melody, from lyrical folk to more contemporary electronic textures.
Both Tim and George use small electronic setups and George sometimes play keys under Rob. The focus is on heads-up, interactive playing and generating sound-worlds which belie the size and instrumentation of the group. A unique night is in prospect.
