The Fashademix aims to stimulate debate and opinion.
Two Fashion Business and Promotion lecturers at Birmingham City University have launched a podcast aimed at students and industry workers to discuss developments in the fashion business.
Laura Arrowsmith and fellow colleague Sophie Johnson started The Fashademix, which is currently number three in itunes fashion and beauty podcasts after just six episodes.
Laura said, “Sophie and I felt we were having really interesting conversations with our students and each other and that there was a gap in the podcast market to open up our discussions. We often disagree or have conflicting opinions which opens up interesting discussions.
“Every episode we talk about the latest fashion news and products as well as interviewing someone from industry. So far we have interviewed the owners of lounge underwear, Superdry, influencers and photographers. Upcoming guests we have the daily mail, graduate fashion week director, buyers from liberty, COS and lots more”
She added, “There was a real gap in the market for this and we decided to create a podcast that covers the latest fashion news and views. We interview industry experts such as the owners of lounge underwear, Superdry, buyers and influencers as well as talking about latest products and brands.
“We think especially in this time it’s important to talk about education and the creative arts industry but even more important to have lecturers who understand and can support students.”
The podcast is supported and hosted by Brum Radio and can be accessed on all the usual channels.
