Andy Munro watches Blues beat Nottingham Forest.
With Forest in rampant form and Blues still stuttering a bit, hopes weren’t massively high for a positive result especially given the less than riveting transfer window.
Yet Blues started off brightly but Forest’s success has been built on a rock solid defence and lightening breakaways.This was evidenced when they counter attacked with impressive speed to score the opener. Things appeared to get worse when in the 
dying minutes of the first half they were awarded a penalty following a goalline scrimmage.
If the pen had been converted it’s likely that Forest would have been out of sight but Lee Camp yet again did the business with a penalty save for which hopefully he will now start to earn some plaudits.
Even more amazingly almost immediately Blues broke away to score through Scott Hogan. In fairness, Hogan had looked quick and bright throughout the opening half. The second half was nip and tuck and included a goalline chested clearance from Dean and a wonder save from the Forest keeper from a very impressive Jude Bellingham. However, it was down to Pedersen, who strangely was a bit of a mixed bag on the day, to turn in the winner.
For once, Pep was a bit more timely with his subs bringing off a tiring Jude for Maghoma and a similarly tiring Hogan for a dominant Roberts – and why the latter wasn’t played from the start is a mystery. A massive three points for Blues and credit also to Gary Gardner who was a giant in midfield backed by a neat and tidy McEachran. It’s just a shame that this pushed Jude out wide when undoubtedly he is more effective down the middle.
