Third local outlet for family business.
The Mailbox – Birmingham’s premier lifestyle and shopping destination – is set to welcome a brand new independent restaurant in September.
Family-run business, Pinocchio, will take residence amongst the Mailbox’s popular canal side restaurants and Everyman Cinema, and will be the third Midlands-based restaurant from the owners of the much-loved La Galleria on Ethel Street in Birmingham and Cafe Casita on Clarence Street in Sedgley.
Pinocchio will span 4,500 sq ft and will showcase authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Sicilian-born owner Erminio’s passion for quality, fresh ingredients is evident in its extensive menu presenting an array of pasta, pizza and risotto dishes, as well as steak, lamb, veal, and a daily fish option, all perfectly complemented by a carefully curated wine list and a choice of beers.
Erminio commented: “Following the success of La Galleria, we are delighted to be opening our brand new restaurant at the Mailbox this autumn. We love being part of Birmingham’s rich and vibrant food scene, and it will be fantastic to offer something new and exciting to our loyal customers whilst also taking the opportunity to introduce our food to people who may not have experienced it before. We can’t wait to welcome our new guests in September!”
David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at the Mailbox added: “The breadth of Birmingham’s culinary scene is second to none, and the city is a hugely exciting place to be for any foodie right now. We’re incredibly proud to be home to some of the region’s best and most loved restaurants and look forward to consolidating our offering with Pinocchio’s delicious Italian cuisine later this year.”
The announcement comes on the back of recent signings at the Mailbox and will mark a raft of new openings including fashion and lifestyle retailers, English Brands and Burrows & Hare.
