There’s another night of quality jazz at the Red Lion on Friday.
After a short absence new quintet Orbits, with an augmented line-up and led by Birmingham-based saxophonist and composer Chris Young, makes another welcome appearance for Birmingham Jazz at the.
This will be the debut performance of a brand new project which brings together some of Birmingham’s finest improvisers and explores a suite of original music that has been composed over the last year.
Since graduating with first class honours from Birmingham Conservatoire, Chris has become a versatile sideman performing with the Birmingham Jazz Orchestra, Hans Koller, Hansu Tori, Ben Lee Quintet, Dave Ferris Septet amongst others.
