The free event will take place this Saturday 24th September between 9.30am and 5pm. Visitors will get the chance to discuss future career paths with more than 30 exhibitors including employers, training providers, colleges and universities.

Exhibitors include University College Birmingham, Heart of England Training, The Apprenticeship Works, Birmingham Electrical Training and Creative Alliance.

Now in its second year, the event has been organised by Birmingham & Solihull Work Based Training Provider Network. Last year, the event saw hundreds of young people attend, with many individuals using the advice on offer to start the next stage of their life.

Georgina Mendez, chair of Birmingham & Solihull Work Based Training Provider Network, said: “We are excited to be hosting the Careers and Apprenticeship Show for the second year running. Parents from last year have told us that our members had a wealth of information, advice and guidance, not only for the children, but for the parents too.”

Councillor O’Reilly, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Skills, said: “It is vital that when our young people leave school, they are given as much support as possible to achieve their ambitions, find employment and learn new skills, all helping to make Birmingham a great place to live and work.”

Neil Anderson, director of marketing, communications and events at Millennium Point, said: “We are thrilled once again to be the host for one of the city’s leading career shows for young people. Birmingham has the youngest population of any city in Europe therefore it is vital we provide individuals with the support they need to have a promising and bright future.”
