Get involved in Summer Solved.
Transport for West Midlands and local travel operators have got together with top tourist attractions to design an antidote for holiday headaches.
Summer Solved is this year’s holiday offer spearheaded by TfWM, part of the West Midlands Combined Authority, and supported by some of the region’s big name leisure and education destinations.
The campaign offers discount entry to top attractions for those people who arrive by public transport.
There is a great value range of bus, train and tram tickets for the whole family and discount entry vouchers for venues including Thinktank, Dudley Zoological Gardens, National Sea Life Centre, Silver Blades Ice Rink in Solihull, Black Country Living Museum, Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Jump Nation Trampoline Parks. It also features ideas for free days out, events, competitions and a great selection of cycling and walking plans.
People can send in a picture or note about their great days out to Network West Midlands Facebook or Twitter @networkwm – using #NWMDaysOut to be entered into a prize draw to win the ultimate family day out at the end of the year.
The WMCA’s transport delivery committee chair Cllr Richard Worrall said: “The long summer school break is just beginning and filling all that free time can be a bit of a challenge for families. Cutting the costs a bit is always a big help and we know from the success of our previous summer campaigns that linking up with the region’s top tourist destinations is a winning combination.
“This year we have a wider range of offers than ever before – there’s a real treasure trove of things to see and do in the West Midlands and I hope this will help people make the most of that. And obviously, by using public transport, families can not only save money on entrance fees, petrol and parking but also do their bit for the environment and enjoy a great day out in the process.”
People can get involved in Summer Solved by downloading vouchers online or picking up a brochure at bus stations, travel centres and multiple events throughout the summer. All events are listed on the NWM Facebook page.
