Hotel guests raise funds for magical Christmas.
Guests at Hyatt Regency Birmingham have been quick to embrace the Christmas spirit by granting a whole host of wishes for patients at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
As part of the hotel’s support to its charity partner, Hyatt Regency Birmingham launched a Christmas ‘Wish Tree’ which intends to make the wishes of 19 patients at the hospital come true.
In order for the wishes to come true, Hyatt Regency Birmingham has been asking guests to purchase the children’s wishes or a bauble from the tree located in the lobby. The wishes include meeting Peppa Pig, spending a day grooming dogs and a princess pamper party.
Two weeks into launching the Wish Tree, 15 out of the 19 wishes have already been granted, raising a total of £1,669 so far.
Vikki Calcutt, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, said: “Thank you to everyone who has purchased a bauble or wish. We hope the community will continue to show their support to grant the remaining children’s wishes – it would really help make Christmas magical for our patients.”
Hyatt Regency Birmingham still needs to raise another £580 in order for the last four wishes to be granted. Guests will have the option of either purchasing baubles for £5 or £10 each from the hotel’s reception or purchasing the wishes at their individual values. Guests can also write their message or name on the tags of the wishes and baubles and each evening they will be hung on the wish tree in the lobby.
