City centre development honoured.
For the second time this year, Crest Nicholson has been awarded a top national award for its Park Central development in Birmingham city centre.
Park Central was named Best Regeneration Project at last week’s Housebuilder Awards, following being named Development of the Year (over 100 homes) at the Sunday Times British Homes Awards earlier in the summer. Additionally, Crest Nicholson was named Housebuilder of the Year at both award ceremonies.
The Housebuilder Awards is an annual event that celebrates the very best in UK housebuilding and is organised in partnership with the National House Building Council (NHBC).

“Park Central is one of the largest residential regeneration schemes in Birmingham city centre. When we first purchased the site, the whole area was blighted by poor social conditions and poor quality housing. It was often referred to as a no-go zone in Birmingham. Ten years later, Park Central is a desirable place to live in the city, home to more than 1,000 people, including professionals and families.

A 61-acre residential-led mixed use scheme located off Lee Bank Middleway, Park Central once epitomised Birmingham’s image as a ‘concrete jungle’. Dominated by tower blocks and street crime, the environment was so unhealthy that half of the children on the estate suffered from asthma.
