United Birmingham has organised a peace event for Summerfield Park, starting at 3pm on Sunday, which is open to all-comers and supported by faith and community organisations.
The event is being staged under the banner of “One city, one voice for peace”.
Birmingham City Council has lent its support by helping to assist the planners of the community-led event in partnership with West Midlands Police and other key agencies.
Those planning to attend by car are being asked to remember that Summerfield Park is situated near to many residential properties – so motorists are being asked to park responsibly and respect the fact that people may need to enter and leave their homes on the day.
Access to Gillott Road and Summerfield Crescent is being restricted to residents only.
And subject to demand, bus operator National Express has confirmed extra services will be provided on existing routes from the City Centre to the Dudley Road area, to help people get to the venue with ease.
