Hope, a series of fundraising events to raise money for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disasters, will be taking place on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 May at The Public.

On Friday 6 May, U2 tribute band, Achtung Baby will performing at the West Bromwich arts centre, as visitors are encouraged to dig deep into their pockets to help raise worthy funds for the Japanese Red Cross.  Highly regarded as one of the pioneering tribute acts having formed in the early nineties, the much loved four piece will be performing hits such as ‘Out of Control’, ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Angel of Harlem’.  The performance begins at 8pm with tickets priced at £6 advanced and concessions, and £8 on the door.

The following day, Saturday 7 May, will see a host of free family activities taking place throughout the building.   From 1pm – 5pm, all ages are invited to join in a number of fun-filled creative workshops, bringing much fun and laughter to the proceedings.  The day of activities will also feature a selection of craft stalls as well as beauty tips and makeovers for a nominal fee.

On the evening of Saturday 7 May, Hope will be showcasing a special Variety Evening packed full of comedy, music, dance, poetry and story telling.  With a number of artists from across the Sandwell Borough performing, the event promises to be a night to remember.   Tickets are just £5 advance and concessions, £6 on the door, with the performance beginning at 7.30pm.

 

After successfully raising over £3500 for the Pakistan Flood Appeal in 2010, Hope now look to raise significant money for the Japanese Red Cross and help improve lives and raise spirits of those effected by March’s tragic natural disaster.
