Robins put to flight

Andy Munro watches Blues’ home campaign end with victory over Bristol City.

This was a decent ending to our home matches and, unlike the Preston game, our performance matched the result.

It was pleasing to see Phil Neumann coolly slot home the opener and his partnership and understanding with Christoph Klarer was the best it’s been and long may that continue.

A second goal arrived from Jhon Solis, who generally had a very decent game continually making himself available and keeping things moving. The general consensus is that if we can get Solis without breaking the bank then it would be a good move given his potential as a 21 year old just starting out

On the subject of keeping things moving, Jay Stansfield never stopped running and didn’t give Bristol City’s defence a moment’s rest. Both Blues wingers supported well and there was another excellent display by the full-backs in supporting our wide men.

City did get a goal back from a penalty following a rash tackle but this didn’t stop the home side running out well deserved winners. In the closing stages Chris Davies made some substitutions including a fit-again Alex Cochrane and Tommy Doyle, although it is likely that the latter will be returning to Wolves.

There was no sign of the Ducksch and unless he was still sporting a hangover then there must be a question mark over his future.
