Moseley Folk Festival Arts line-up revealed

Comedy, literature and special events plus main stage guests announced.

Birmingham’s Moseley Folk and Arts Festival has revealed further line-up additions for its forthcoming landmark 20th anniversary edition (Friday 4th to Sunday 6th September 2026). Among the names are Big Special, Jane Weaver, David O’Doherty, Mark Watson, Barbara Nice, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd, Lindsey Santoro, Morgan Nagler and more.

Friday’s Mains Stage Special Guests are Black Country heavyweights Big Special. The duo – Joe Hicklin (vocals) and Callum Moloney (drums) – have quickly established themselves as one of the most compelling acts in British music. Tracks such as Sluglife, Plaintive Native and The Good Life (their collaboration with Sleaford Mods), are shaped by stark honesty, razor-edged humour, and the emotional weight of lived experience.

Jane Weaver (Saturday) is no stranger to Moseley Folk Festival, having appeared at the very first edition way back in 2006, as well as several times since. Calling on psych, European folk and electronica, her many acclaimed collections include The Silver Globe, Modern Kosmology and 2024’s Love In Constant Spectacle.

Hailing from LA, singer-songwriter Morgan Nagler fronted indie project Whispertown 2000, while her writing credits include co-writes with HAIM, Rilo Kiley, Phoebe Bridgers and Kim Deal. Her debut solo album, I’ve Got Nothing To Lose, And I’m Losing It, is released on March 13.

Meanwhile, the Arts strand sees collaborations with comedy kings The Glee Club, Birmingham Comedy Festival and Close Up Comedy with appearances from Ireland’s David O’Doherty, Christopher Macarthur-Boyd and Jeff Innocent (Friday); Lindsey Santoro, Robin Morgan and Phil Nicol (Saturday); and Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award Winners Ryan S Lewis and Hasan al-Habib alongside Mark Watson (Sunday).

Comedy legend Barbara Nice is also back with her own chaotic take on Blind Date (Saturday), while The Heath Bookshop presents sessions with The Folk Archive’s Lally Macbeth (Friday), author of The Lost Folk; Brum archivist/musician and Glitter And Glue author Dave Twist (Saturday); Blur drummer/ photographer Dave Rowntree, who documented the band’s early career (Sunday); and award-winning Birmingham performance poet Bradley Taylor (Sunday).

Further Arts additions across the weekend are skiffle/comedy combo The Ouse Valley Singles Club, quizmaster Burt Bacharackhams and acclaimed poets Luke Kennard, Bohdan Piasecki and Liz Berry.

These join the previously announced music headliners Kingfishr and Katherine Priddy (Friday); Super Furry Animals, Johnny & Lillie Flynn and The Wran (Saturday); and The Dead South, Frank Turner and Lucinda Williams (Sunday) – with tickets now limited across all three days.
