Blues turn Seville oranges into lemons

This 3-1 victory was an excellent result for Blues with perhaps the ‘first team’ in the first half most impressive.
Jay Stansfield, as usual, ran his socks off but it was the youngster Betteka, who capped an impressive performance by slotting in an equally impressive Keshi Anderson to fire home.
In goal, Stockdale showed that he is not going to let go of the green jersey lightly with a calm performance capped by one superb diving save to keep Blues in the ascendancy. A deserved second goal followed from a goalmouth scramble when Christopher Klarer hammered the ball home.
In fairness to Sevilla, their wholesale halftime changes made a big difference as they enjoyed some decent spells of pressure and deservedly cut the arrears after a poor clearance. Having said that, there were still some very bright displays, notably from youngster Bateman doing his future chances no harm and Leonard capping a decent performance with a superb goal direct from a free kick.
Bright Osayi Samuel lived up to his first name with a sparkling cameo performance whilst Tommy Doyle looked okay but not quite the different footballing gravy that we were told to expect.
At the back, new boy Neumann seemed to be all that we had been promised so things look bright particularly given the absence of our two new stars from the land of the Rising Sun.
Overall, however, General  Franco, Alfredo Di Stefano and the Spanish Armada…your boys took one hell of a beating!
