Blue Murder

Blues beat Fulham 7-1 in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. Andy Munro keeps score.

A modest crowd of just under 7,000 were treated to a Blues’ goal bonanza as they eased into the knockout stages of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Despite making seven changes, Blues still fielded a strong side and were worth their half-time lead courtesy of the Willumson/Stansfield combo, divided by a single but spectacular response from the young Fulham side.

However after a fairly even few opening minutes of the second half, Blues then took the game by the scruff of the neck with a spectacular brace from the excellent Ayumu Yokoyama, Alfie May also getting on the scoresheet at last which will have been a much needed confidence booster.

Similarly a goal from Lyndon Dykes should have the same effect on that player and it goes without saying that Stanno completed his hat-trick. It was also good to see Keshi Anderson come on to not only score but put in a sterling performance.

In defence, Christoph Klarer continued his dominance whilst Ben Davies was also impressive when coming on, as was Ethan Laird. Talk about an embarrassment of riches…
