Blues draw with Rotherham as Andy Munro is left wondering.
It was not pretty and to be honest not good as blues struggled against a team that last won away when Tony Blair was in charge of the country.
In fact Rotherham, and their caretaker manager who is probably paid less than the pocket money Rooney gives to his kids, should have won but a stroke of luck and a fabulous clearance from Dion Sandersen saved the day. Mind you, Sandersen looks half the player he was, when partnered by Emanuel Aiwu, or should that be Awol, instead of Mr Dependable George Long.
As usual Lee Buchanan was decent but it was a blow when Ethan Laird went off injured whilst Kyrstian Beilik and Juninho Bacuna struggled in midfield. It was a relief to see the excellent Jordan James make an appearance, as was it to see the Juke replace Ollie Burke, who was about as much good as Ollie Hardy.
Jay Stansfield was both ineffective and wasted as a spearhead whilst only Siriki Dembele looked like he had the key to unlock the opposition defence. The fact that overall I was happy we got away with a point says it all about our performance. Even Wayne Rooney is apparently realising that this Rome will take more than a few days to build and maybe the way results are going he needs to be concerned about a repeat of the Ides of March.
