Andy Munro sees Blues win at Huddersfield Town.
This was an excellent win, strengthening Blues push to go up – and hopefully as champions.
Chances were few and far between but of those created Blues had the lion’s share. In fact Huddersfield hardly laid a glove on the visitors. Defensively, Blues were as solid as a rock with defenders Christoph Klarer and Ben Davies superb. Behind them, keeper Ryan Allsop was as cool as a cucumber with his distribution.
In front of them, Tomoki Iwata was impressive on his return although late on, and slightly worryingly, he appeared to be injured as he went off. Alongside him both Marc Leonard and particularly the underrated Taylor Gardner-Hickman turned in solid performances.
Blues’ winner must be a contender for goal of the season with Keshi Anderson topping a man of the match performance when he flicked the ball up to volley home. Alongside him, Lyndon Dykes worked like a Trojan, winning far more than his fair share of headers. Also up front Jay Stansfield had a quiet game but no doubt he will soon find another purple goalscoring patch.
Two away matches, and four points against promotion rivals is a return most Blues fans will happily take.
