Blues draw at Wrexham. Andy Munro reports.
This much-vaunted return between Blues and Wrexham certainly lived up to expectations in tension and atmosphere if not quality.
A draw was a decent but not outstanding result and keeps a respectable difference between the sides from our viewpoint. We just about edged the first half after going behind to what has to be said was an excellent goal from the son of ex-Blues player Mick Rathbone.
Lyndon Dykes, who had a good game in a physical match, restored parity and Blues could have gone into the half-time break in the lead but it was not to be.
The second period was fairly even until the last ten minutes, when Blues had to endure a torrid time as Wrexham went all out for the win. Luckily, the visiting defence played a starring role, with Christoph Klarer and Ben Davies imperious in the air and Ryan Allsop quite superb behind them
All in all a good point on the road and it was good to see substitute Keshi Anderson come in and make an impressive combination, as he has been sorely missed. On that note it will also be good to see Tomoki Iwata and Paik Seung-ho back for the run in.
