Millers put through it

Andy Munro watches Blues win at Rotherham.

Despite the height of the Rotherham side, it was men against boys in reverse as Blues strolled to a routine two-nil win. Apart from a couple of early forays, the visitors had an embarrassingly large share of the play. The worry that we would miss the suspended Krystian Bielik was unfounded with newbie Ben Davies slotting in nicely alongside the commanding Christoph Klarer and flanked by the sound duo of Alex Cochrane and Taylor Gardner-Hickman.

With an embarrassment of League One riches, there was always only going to be one winner and the international duo of Paik Seung-ho and Tomoki Iwata dominated the midfield with the latter again netting.

Up front, there was no way that Jay Stansfield was going to be left out of the goalscoring and yet again got on the scoresheet with a superb finish after being put through by the equally impressive Willum Willumsson. A word also for Lyndon Dykes, who gave Blues an important physical presence in the Yorkshire Land of the Giants.

Blues fans continue to ironically chant “We’re in for a shock,” and whilst usually pride comes before a fall, this side is looking the real deal; long may that continue.

Finally, a word for Steve Evans, the Rotherham manager, who before the match was taking a few cheap shots about the Brummie ‘Galacticos’ . Even he, post-match, was gracious enough to eat a large helping of the Yorkie version of humble pie.
