Fairport Convention return for their Autumn 2024 tour.
Following the huge success of their annual Cropredy Convention in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, pioneering British folk rockers Fairport Convention have announced their Autumn 2024 tour which inclides a date at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
2024 will see the band that launched British folk-rock celebrate 57 years in business. As they embark on their journey around the UK, Fairport’s long-established reputation as an exceptional live band continues to flourish. Their nationwide excursion will take in 24 dates, including the Conservatoire on 20th October.
Whilst Fairport Convention has seen many changes over the years, one thing has remained the same – their passion for performance. Curating a repertoire from albums old and new, audiences can expect a set stuffed full of fan favourites with some surprises along the way.
This year’s lineup features Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar and vocals, Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on bouzouki, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and vocals.
As the four chaps continue to carry on the Fairport baton, they prove to be Fairport’s most consistent and long-lasting lineup – 28 years. Fairport Convention’s autumn tour runs from 15th October to 10th November 2024 with some shows already sold out.
