Return to city promoters for acclaimed bandleader.
There’s a welcome back to 1,000 Trades for an old favourite on Friday. Birmingham Jazz will be welcoming back Jim Rattigan with his new work, recorded and released as When. This eloquently inventive composer/bandleader brings together some of the UK’s finest players from both jazz and classical music. Idiomatic diversity and intuitive flexibility will combine to make this an evening to relish.
The French horn virtuoso bridges the genres of scored music and jazz with this delightful collection of tunes for jazz quartet and string quartet. The results are sparkling.
Jim Rattigan will be performing at 1,000 Trades, 16 Frederick Street, Birmingham, B1 3HE on Friday 28th January.
Admission: Advance – standard £12.50, members £10, students £5 (on the door £15/£12.50/£5).
