Immersive social cricket comes to Birmingham.
Mark 16 December in your diaries. Sixes – the world’s first social cricket entertainment experience – is coming to Birmingham.
You’ll be able to swing for the boundaries in three high-tech batting nets before settling into the bar and restaurant to tuck into some delicious cocktails, beers and British BBQ food at Sixes’ fourth clubhouse, located at Wharfside Street in the city’s Mailbox.
Founder Calum Mackinnon said: “We are incredibly excited to be opening Sixes Birmingham. Just like us, the people of Birmingham love their sport. We firmly believe that cricket is an inclusive game and our mission at Sixes is to bring people together through sport and great hospitality.
“We look forward to welcoming the people of Birmingham to challenge their skills on our high-tech cricket simulators and explore our fantastic menu.”
The Birmingham clubhouse will be fourth venue for Sixes, with two already in London and a third having opened in Manchester in August.
Thanks to Sixes’ state-of-the-art technology, the level of challenge can be scaled up or down to suit the batter at the crease, making it as much fun for an eight-year-old’s birthday party as it would be for the Warwickshire squad’s Christmas party!
South Africa-born Sir Andrew John Strauss OBE, formerly the director of cricket for the England and Wales Cricket Board who played county cricket for Middlesex and captained the England national team in all formats of the game, is am ambassador for Sixes.
He said: “Cricket is a game which unites everyone and I am delighted to be associated with Sixes, who are bringing ‘social cricket’ to the diverse community of Birmingham. Together, we are beyond excited to get the doors open and start welcoming groups of friends, families and colleagues to enjoy the Sixes experience.”
What’s more, there’ll be no more dodging the rain clouds on the village green, Sixes is an indoor cricketing experience which caters for everyone, all year round, from Christmas party-goers and stag and hen parties, as well as family groups.
Available for kid’s birthday parties and corporate events too, it’s the perfect place for your next social get together. Kids are welcome to bring their own bats, but Sixes also has a selection of willow to swing, depending on your level and confidence!
It’s not just about the cricket! From 16th December, Sixes Birmingham will be serving craft beers, fine wines and cocktails to keep you refreshed during your visit. News of when the Sixes kitchen will open will be announced soon.
To whet the appetite for when the kitchen opens, expect the best of British meats and vegetables, flamed, roasted and grilled on the Robata grill then presented in a relaxed and easy to share format.
The Sixes menu includes low and slow chicken wings, house-smoked sausages to order by the half metre, overnight coals sweet potato, next-level vegan burger, mac & cheese croquettes, smoked chicken Caesar salad and the signature Sixes meat volcano.
Sixes also shows the best live sport at its clubhouses, so settle in and watch the action unfold in the nets and on the numerous TV screens.
