Digbeth resident walking 100 miles for NHS charities.
local businessman Neil and his partner Charli are about to embark on ‘A long walk home for the NHS’.
This is a gruelling 100-mile trek from Bradford in Yorkshire back to Digbeth over five days and four nights. They will be carrying all of their gear with them while they camp out on stops along the way.
This is a hugely difficult challenge for the pair, who have no hiking or camping experience and the journey will be extremely hard on their bodies and minds, but it is all in aid of the fantastic front line workers who push themselves to places we will never know.
Neil & Charli will be giving everything to this trek and have vowed to finish no matter what the conditions or the aches and pains. They have already received wonderful help and advice from locals in each of their planned stops and all campsites so far have allocated them a free pitch as a thank you.
Neil said, “The reason for this crazy trek is quite simple, we got tipsy one night and thought it would be a good idea to walk over 100 miles with no experience and full camping kit. It initially started as a couple of miles for charity then as the wine kept flowing so did the distance.”
More information can be found on their JustGiving page. Any donations, however small or large, will be going to the NHS.
