Balsall Common pub unveils new seasonal menu.
The White Horse in Balsall Common has launched its new Summer menu – with a whole host of fresh dishes from sharers and salads to skewers and steaks.
The contemporary pub and restaurant on the Kenilworth Road has introduced a new salad selection including Goats Cheese, walnut and honey; Loch Fyne Smoked Salmon, new potato, creme fraiche and spring onion and Crispy Duck Salad with hoi sin and plum dressing and toasted seasame seeds.
The pub’s popular grilled hanging skewers with rustic fries have been given a Summer twist with the addition of Garlic and Herb King Prawns and Piri Piri Chicken – served with a pouring sauce so you can drizzle or drench to your own taste.
Other new mains include Asparagus, Pea, Courgette and Mint Risotto, Oriental Glazed Roasted Belly of Pork with stir fried noodles and pickled ginger and Grilled Field Mushroom, mozzarella and pesto burger. These sit alongside pub favourites of Lashfords Gloucester Sausages, creamy mash, gravy and caramelised red onion jam, British Coast Fish and Chips, pea puree and chunky tartare sauce or korma mayonnaise and the classic White Horse homemade lasagne – which is now created with superb slow braised beef.
There’s also new pudding menu, so make sure you save room for something sweet … such as Baked Cheesecake, passionfruit coulis and almond crunch or the melt in the middle Chocolate Fondant Cake with mint chocolate ice cream.
Pizzas are two for one from Monday-Saturday noon until 6pm, including take away. All burger dishes are two for £16 on Saturday noon until 6pm. New menu is now being served. The pub has also launched a new sandwich menu for Summer.
The White Horse is a traditional country pub with a modern feel serving fresh and homemade food. A private function room, gardens and decking are all available to hire with menu and drinks packages tailored to personal requirements.
