Budding photographers invited to capture Kings Heath Summer

Entrants wanted for seasonal photography competition.

Kings Heath BID is celebrating the first day of meteorological summer by relaunching the seasonal Capture Kings Heath competition.

The popular competition will invite local budding photographers to show off their skills by submitting shots of sunny Kings Heath, from sunsets and sunrises over the town, summer spots in the park, or the local community and independent businesses enjoying the warmer weather.

Two lucky winners, chosen by an online public vote and expert judging panel, will be in with a chance of winning a cash prize of £75 each, donated by Kings Heath BID.

Photographers have until Thursday 13th July 2017 to submit their photographs, when all entries will go to a two week public vote on the Enjoy Kings Heath Facebook page, with the winners announced on Thursday 27th July 2017.

The spring competition saw talented photographer Alex Baker win the public vote, after receiving over 100 Facebook likes for his stunning shot of local independent business Kitchen Garden Cafe, and Christine Wright win the Judges Choice for her beautiful image of the Methodist Church on Cambridge Road, which featured as the front cover of the Spring/Summer 2017 Enjoy Kings Heath magazine.

Kings Heath BID Town Centre Manager, Martin Mullaney, explains: “Following on from the stunning images entered into the Spring Capture Kings Heath competition, we can’t wait to see what the talented photographers of Birmingham will submit this summer! With the weather warming up and the days getting longer, summer is the perfect opportunity to get out there and Capture Kings Heath in all of it’s glory. You never know, your photograph could be the front cover of the next Enjoy Kings Heath magazine!”

The Capture Kings Heath competition closes on Thursday 13th July 2017, and the winners will be announced after two weeks of public voting on the Enjoy Kings Heath Facebook page on Thursday 27th July 2017.
