There’s a seasonal flavour to some of the acts appearing at the Robin 2 over the next couple of weeks.
On Thursday 8th December the Roy Wood Rock & Roll Band will be making a welcome return to the venue. There’ll probably be a Christmas song played. There’ll certainly be some of the most enduring and innovative rock songs of all time, performed by one of Britain’s greatest-ever songwriters.
Tickets £20
Thursday 15th December sees legendary folk rockers Lindisfarne performing. The latest incarnation of the band, as ever featuring original member and singer Rod Clements, will be playing a night of Yuletide-tinged nostalgia guaranteed to inspire audience participation.
Tickets £20
The following night, Friday 16th December, sees a vaguely familiar name with a local connection. Slade, who can say that they literally are around the corner from their old stomping ground, will be bringing the house down, feeling the noize and more than likely they’ll be doing a seasonal ditty as well.
Tickets are sold out but you can try the box office for returns.
If that’s not enough seventies glam nostalgia, Monday 19th December features another name from a time when music was about enjoyment. Andy Scott’s Sweet have forged a reputation as crowd pleasers across Europe, playing the hits as well as some of the lesser-known songs that made the band such a formidable live attraction.
