Ants and acorns take Robert Wood to victory in #brum gin battle.
Five leading bartenders from Birmingham’s best bars and restaurants took place in a drinks competition for consumers at experimental restaurant Nomad on Sunday 13th March. The gin battle saw 70 people descend on the restaurant at 1 Dudley Street to serve their creative interpretation on the perfect gin and tonic with guests each having voted for their favourite once having tasted all five.
Professional judging was provided by food blogger Paul Fulford, journalist Tom Cullen, ‘The Gintleman’ Carl Hawkins and Provide’s Matt Nation. Robert Wood’s Natures Bounty creation with Slingsby Gin was a clean sweep being announced as both Public Vote winner and Judges’ Winner; his G&T used Acorns, Chestnuts and Sycamore Leaf alongside Wood Ants in the winning drink.
