Landmark celebration for community group.
Small Heath Credit Union will be celebrating its 25th birthday on 18 June 2015. The Union, which is open to anyone who lives, works or attends a place of worship in Small Heath, is one of the community credit unions established by the Birmingham Credit Union Development Agency in the late 1980s and is run entirely by its members using the premises of All Saints Church and Mercian Housing Association for weekly collection points. Membership is currently at 250 and its assets currently amount to £150,000.
The special guest at the celebration will be Councillor Stewart Stacey, who performed the opening ceremony at St Oswalds Church Hall, Small Heath in 1990. The event will take place at All Saints Church, Herbert Road, which has been the Registered Office and main Collection Point of the Credit Union since 2008.
There will be slide show of historic photographs, a birthday cake and refreshments for everyone.
