Local musicians come together to raise money for ill colleague.
Mike’s the one with the beard and shades.
Mike Burney is one of the great unsung heroes of the Birmingham music scenes. Best known for his work with Wizzard, Mike has played sax with a host of great names including Steve Winwood, Cilla Black, the Beach Boys, Dionne Warwick and Bob Hope.
He’s been suffering for a long while with cancer and unable to work. A benefit gig is being held at the Asylum, 41 Hampton Street, Hockley on 28th October when an All-Star band of local jazz & blues musicians who’ve worked with Mike will be raising funds on his behalf.
Tickets are £5, you can pay on the night and all the proceeds will go to Mike.
