TV show leavers to appear in the city.
Fans of X Factor can see the show’s finalists in Birmingham as a series of late night shows kick off this weekend. From Saturday, finalists who leave the show will appear the following week on stage at the city’s gay superclub The Nightingale.
For the past two years the Kent Street venue, has hosted X Factor stars and is now gearing up for its own third series. The late-night shows will be part of the club’s Big Saturgay Night Out, which regularly attracts more than 1,000 clubbers each week to the venue.
This week the venue will welcome 26-year-old singer Lorna Simpson who was the first of this year’s live finalists to get the chop and Shelley Smith the week after. Club owner Lawrence Barton said: “People still love the show and they and they love to meet the finalists at our venue. It’s just a fun night out which gets increasingly popular the closer we get to hosting the show’s winner.”
Also lined up to entertain fans is rapper Dappy. The N-Dubz star will appear on stage on October 31st followed by Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby on November 7th.
The 2,000 capacity venue has instigated new theme nights as well as introducing The Midlands Big Gay Night Out which has seen hundreds of revellers bussed in from more than 16 t owns and cities into Southside to boost business. Clubbers from London, Manchester, Liverpool and Bristol are turning to the club and visiting Birmingham thanks to the Nightingale’s initiative. The club has attracted acts including Mel B, Little Mix, The Saturdays, Stooshe, Brit and MOBO award winner Lemar, Lawson, Marcus Collins and Stacey Solomon, as well as impromptu appearances from celebrities visiting the city.
