With just under a week to go, businesses and residents from the Jewellery Quarter are gearing up for the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September.

Ambitious plans to encourage everyone in the area to take part were hatched back in July when the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust and estate agency Maguire Jackson came up with the idea of raising funds to present the ‘Jewellery Quarter’s Biggest Cheque’.

So far, over thirty businesses and residents have signed-up to either host a coffee morning or donate prizes to a raffle.  These include Perry Beeches II free school, the Old Fire Station Children’s Nursery, InBloom, Fleurets and Betts Metals.

“As a proactive business district, we want to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan and that means encouraging everyone to either host their own coffee morning, visit one on the day or donate a prize,” says Philip Jackson, director at Maguire Jackson. “Volunteers have pounded the streets to hand out leaflets and posted them through everyone’s doors. Every donation helps as we will be presenting one big cheque combining all our efforts.”
