There is a Government scheme to insulate people’s homes to protect them from the cold and to save them money on their heating bills.
Age Concern Birmingham is working with npower in the Birmingham area to help and support those people who need the measures most and who are eligible to have the work completed free of charge.
If you, or someone you know receives benefits such as State Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit or Income Support, and they own their own home or live in private rented accommodation, then they could be entitled to free home insulation.
You don’t even have to be a customer.
Loft or Cavity Wall Installation takes no more than one day, there’s no mess and expert installers will respect the home.
Iain Mackintosh Development Director Age Concern Birmingham said: “This is an excellent way for older people to prepare for the winter. Getting your house insulated will save hundreds of pounds in heating bills, so you can stay warm and healthy. It’s not often you get something for free, so we would advise as many eligible people as possible to take up this offer.”

The free offer ends in 2012 so act now.
