Al Lewis is a singer-songwriter from North Wales whose sound is reminiscent of the classic singer-songwriters of the ’70s delivered with a modern twist.
Our Lines Remain is the follow up EP to the inaugural Welsh Music Prize nominated album In the Wake. It follows on from the Live on the Wire EP which showcased Al’s live performances from Abbey Rd Studios as part of Abbey Road Debuts. It was recorded by Phill Brown (Bombay Bicycle Club, Laura Marling).
In 2011 Al was picked by Caffe Nero to be their Artist of the Month, performing in stores across the length and breadth of Britain. With the official release of In the Wake this led to the album entering the Amazon Top 10 Folk albums chart upon its release, gathering support and praise from eminent DJs such as Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Bob Harris (BBC Radio 1 / 2 / 6music).
In April 2011 Al was personally invited by Cerys Matthews to support her at her sell-out show at the PJ Hall in Bangor where they performed the song Road Rage together on stage. Al will be performing on the Main Stage at Wakestock Festival this July for a second-time alongside headliner Ed Sheeran.
