On Tuesday 10 April and Wednesday 11 April, The Public in West Bromwich will be inviting visitors to have their photo taken in their photo studio for free.
In what is reckoned to be an exciting opportunity to become part of the venue’s Lights, Camera, Action photography exhibition, visitors will be able to capture an action shot of themselves and submit it to be displayed within the gallery and online.
From 11am to 4pm on 10 April/11 April staff at The Public will be holding free sessions on the ground floor of the gallery encouraging local people to get creative and become works of art in their own right.
Forming part of The Public’s forthcoming Art of Motion exhibition, a series of exhibitions that explore movement and the fascinating ways in which the body can be used to create art, Lights, Camera, Action will feature a collection of photographs of local people in motion.
Photographers from across the region are also invited to submit their own action shots to be considered for the exhibition. Motion shots of local people whether dancing, at a sports event or cultural celebrations can be uploaded via www.thepublic.com/lights-camera-action.
Deadline for submissions is 27 April 2012.
Lights, Camera, Action will be displayed at The Public from 30 May to 8 July and is free to visit.
