A donkey riding therapy centre for children with special needs in Sutton Park is inviting local people to its Christmas Fair on Saturday 10th December from 10.30am to 3pm.
The Birmingham centre of The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) is renowned for its magnificent Santa’s Grotto and for just £3.50, children will be able to meet the donkeys, visit Father Christmas and receive a gift.
Activities available at the fair include Christmas crafts and stalls, handmade wreaths, games, carol singers, a raffle and much more!
Admission and parking at the Christmas Fair is free and visitors will be able to enjoy festive refreshments and Christmas carols. The centre can be accessed via the Town Gate entrance of Sutton Park.
Sue Brennan, manager of EST Birmingham says: “Our fair is a really special way for us to celebrate Christmas and, with such a wide range of activities on offer throughout the day, there’s sure to be something for all the family to enjoy. It’s one of our biggest fundraising events of the year and we love seeing the children getting so much pleasure visiting Father Christmas in his grotto, whilst the adults can catch up over a coffee and warm mince pie.”
EST Birmingham has been providing donkey riding therapy sessions to children from Birmingham and the surrounding area since 1994. Around 180 local children with special needs and disabilities visit the centre each week for therapeutic riding sessions. The charity also provides outreach visits with donkeys to residents of nursing homes, hospices and care homes.
EST provides donkey therapy services free of charge and is entirely dependent on fundraising and donations to continue its work. For more information about EST visit www.elisabethsvendsentrust.org.uk
