On Monday night there’s the August final of the Robin/M2 Studios live band of the year competition. Finalists are Arcane Rage, Sterotypical, Blues Train and the Formula. Tickets £3.

Then on Thursday the Robin plays host to one of the greatest names in soul and blues music. Guitarist and songwriter with Booker T & the MGs, Steve Cropper co-wrote all their great music as well as playing on and writing much of the Stax back catalogue for Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave and many more. He then put together the Blues Brothers Band and appeared in their films, as well as performing with the likes of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. ‘Legend’ doesn’t even come close. Also appearing are the latest incarnation of the Animals, featuring original member John Steel. Tickets £18.

Friday sees a sixties tribute double bills with the Kinx and the Small Fakers.Tickets £10
