The Public goes sci-fi crazy!

DaleksThe world of science fiction is set to descend on The Public in West Bromwich this spring as a free exhibition of intergalactic proportions heads to the West Bromwich arts centre.

‘Out of this Universe’, launching on Wednesday 6 April, will feature models, costumes, toys and memorabilia from hit productions such as Dr Who and Stars Wars, as sci-fi fanatics will be treated  to an exhibition from deepest darkest outer space.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors to The Public can expect to be amazed as they travel through time, exploring weird and wonderful interactive machines, Daleks, Wall-E, R2D2 and even the Tardis.  The models, from the collection of Nigel Parkes, will be on display at the arts centre from 6 April to 26 June.

To coincide with the exhibition a number of specially themed family workshops will be taking place over both the Easter and May half-term breaks.  A sci-fi twist on the regular Play and Paint sessions, ‘Play and Paint Botz’, will allow 3-11 year olds to come and paint their own robots, whereas in the ‘Robot Drawing Workshops’ over 11s can create their own drawbots using simple batteries and motors.
