Fort Dunlop Sports Day announced

Keep fit at work – and raise money for a good cause.

For all those who love a good competition, Fort Dunlop will be holding a Sports Day at the end of the month to raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Working with on-site gym 247 Fitness, The Fort Dunlop Sports Day is set to take place on Friday 25th September, with six four-man teams competing in a range of activities with a chance to win a prize package.

The activities will take place on The Ha-Ha lawn area in front of the hotel and competitors will play six games to battle it out for victory. Bite, Fort Dunlop’s monthly street food festival, which takes place on the last Friday of every month, will also be on site, with Change Kitchen, Ceylon Spicy, Streetchef, Churros Factory and Two Towers all confirmed to take part.

The competitions will include bin bag weights, a sprint race and a long jump. Contestants will also be challenged to a medicine ball throw, have their endurance tested in a longest plank contest and also strive for victory in a traditional tug-of-war.

The team entry fee will be £40 and all attendees will be encouraged to donate to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. The winning team will be given a month’s free pass at the on-site 24-hour gym, 247 Fitness, and a delicious free lunch of their choice at Bite, Fort Dunlop’s monthly street food festival.

The Sports Day coincides with the culmination of The Big Hoot, which has seen close to 100 owls and 120 owlets in situ throughout the city over the summer, with Fort Dunlop itself home to three owls. The owls will be auctioned at the end of the month to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital has cared for children suffering from some of the most challenging medical conditions for over 150 years. The research that they have been able to undertake through charity fundraising has helped to save hundreds of children’s lives, as well as providing equipment and making sure the hospital feels like a home away from home for each child.
