Miss Burlesque UK comes to Birmingham

Crescent Theatre to host glamorous international event.

Internationally-renowned burlesque competition Miss Burlesque is holding the second year of the UK competition in 2019 and has moved all the glittery action to Birmingham.

Last year’s competition was held in London and produced the very first Miss Burlesque UK winner, Amber Topaz (pictured). This year the opulent space of the Crescent Theatre was the natural choice for the second annual Miss Burlesque UK final. The feathers will fly and the Swarovskis will dazzle on Friday 22nd November in Birmingham.

This year also saw the introduction of a regional final in Scotland, with Tom Harlow crowned the first ever Miss Burlesque Scotland winner. As our first UK regional winner, Tom will also bring his elegant and feminine burlesque performance to the Miss Burlesque UK competition. Will he be crowned not only the first ever Miss Burlesque Scotland, but Miss Burlesque UK as well?

Eight selected finalists including the newly crowned Miss Burlesque Scotland are now preparing to compete for the coveted title of Miss Burlesque UK 2019. Expect drama, sensuality, wit and talent.

The eight dazzling finalists have got it all and are ready to throw their sparkle in the ring with everything they’ve got – the bar has never been set higher!

Burlesque performers Athena Beauvoir, Dolly Trolley, Evelyn Carnate, Jeanie Wishes, Lolly Jones, Millie Dollar, Tom Harlow and Velvet Jones will all tantalise audiences in just one month’s time.

Guests will also be treated to a handover performance by Miss Burlesque UK 2018 winner Amber Topaz, and the inaugural Mr Boyleque UK 2019 winner, Mark Anthony. It’s sizzling, edge-of-the-seat action in the lead-up to one big question – who will be crowned Miss Burlesque UK 2019?

Residing in the UK since 2011, Melanie Piantoni – aka A’dora Derriere – is thrilled to have introduced the United Kingdom to the Miss Burlesque Competition in 2018. A’dora is the owner/ Executive Producer of the worldwide competition, which has been running in Australia since 2010. She took on ownership of Miss Burlesque in 2017 and has lead the competition into an
exciting new direction with major changes to the rules, judging criteria and the application process.

MElanie brought longtime burlesque collaborator Trixi Tassels on board as co-producer in 2019. Trixi is an international burlesque performer and teacher originally from New Zealand, but based in London since 2011. Trixi is thrilled to be working together with A’dora on this eminent competition.

Melanie says “The Miss Burlesque UK competition is a highly anticipated event on the UK
Burlesque calendar! The performers will be out to wow and seduce – they will bring out their burlesque big guns to impress the audience and the judges”
