The BAFTA award-winning film Birdman is amongst the line-up of screenings coming to Artrix this month.

In what has been described as a career-defining role, Michael Keaton stars as a former actor who attempts to reinvent himself as a director by staging a new retelling of a classic Broadway dramatic play. Unbroken, which was directed by Angelina Jolie, tells the amazing story of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini who was imprisoned by the Japanese during the Second World War.

During half-term, youngsters will enjoy Penguins of Madagascar and the ever popular Annie which tells the tale of an irrepressible foster kid in New York.

Testament of Youth tells Vera Britten’s harrowing story of her coming of age as a VAD nurse in the First World War.

Just nudging its way into March is The Theory of Everything for which Eddie Redmayne won a best actor BAFTA for his portrayal of Stephen Hawkings.

Fans of Whitney Houston are in for a treat this Valentine’s Day when Nya King presents her tribute to the famous singer.

Nya has worked with Heatwave, Precious Wilson and Odyssey, and has put together a show of Whitney hits, including I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I Will Always Love You, Greatest Love Of All and many more.

All ticket holders will be entered into a draw to win a bottle of champagne to help make this romantic night of the year even more special.
