Bumper numbers participate in festive event.
There was a record turn-out for a local bowls club’s Boxing Day fun morning including many younger people.
Over forty members, friends and relatives came to play on Erdington Court’s all-weather green. Club chairman and Wylde Green dentist Rob Robinson organises the event each year, together with his wife Hilary and their family. He said “It was a lovely morning and there were even more people than last year. This is an annual event which goes back many years. Had the weather been less kind to us, we always have our large indoor arena to fall back on.”
Festive fayre was laid on to brace the spirits of the players – with mince pies, mulled wine and hot drinks.
Erdington Court is the largest bowls club in North Birmingham/South Staffs and welcomes new members. It offers free coaching for up to four weeks before participants decide to join.
