On Wednesday there’s the chance to see the greatest name in popular music – almost. The Rutles began life as a parody of the Beatles on the seminal seventies TV series Rutland Weekend Television. Since then they’ve made a couple of documentaries, toured occasionally and generally kept the legend of the Pre-fab Four alive. This is your chance to see some of the second-best songs ever written.

Thursday sees another of the bright new blues talents that have emerged in Britain recently. Guitarist Jo Harman is currently completing a whirlwind schedule of European festival appearances ahead of the release of her debut album Dirt on My Tongue in November.

There’s a return to the Robin on Sunday for prog rockers Magenta, who will be promoting their new album, their sixth studio release The 27 Club. The band are also celebrating a successful Classic Rock Society awards presentation, which saw them winning Best Gig, Best Guitarist and for a record ninth time Christina Booth took the Best Female Singer prize.
