Andy Munro sees drawing at Rotherham edge Blues a point nearer safety.
After an impressive win against Coventry this was definitely a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show.
Typically Blues, our expectations were high but the performance was nowhere near good enough. One thing we learned from the game, although it was perhaps just confirmation, is that was if we picked a worst ever Blues XI then Ollie Burke would be a shoe in. It was at best a mediocre performance from the team and four points minimum from the last two games is a must.
Burke apart, and maybe also Keshi Andersen, nobody was dire but at the same time they were five or six out of ten performances, with the predictable exceptions of Jay Stansfield and substitye Koji Myoshi.
In fairness the Blues defence coped quite well with the aerial bombardment of the home side but in doing so lost their ability to support any attacking players. Maybe the Millers got a dose of the new manager bounce which every team seems to benefit from except us, either under Wayne Rooney or Mark Venus.
Still, Championship survival remains in our own hands as of Saturday evening and for that I suppose we should be thankful.
