Andy Munro sees Blues beat Leyton Orient.
No game is easy when every opposition team wants to be a giantkiller, but luckily this 2-0 win was a fairly routine day at the office, helped by the rightful (whatever the disgruntled Orient manager said) sending=off of one of the opposition players.
As usual, Blues built up from a solid backline with Christoph Klarer and Ben Davies outstanding to the extent that Ryan Allsop was almost redundant. This left a licence for both full-backs to go on marauding runs, leading to Blues’ second goal clincher by the inform Ethan Laird.
Tomoki Iwata again starred in midfield and it was also good to see Paik Seung-ho return to a bit of form after several below par (by his standards) performances. Yet again Taylor Gardner-Hickman came into the side seamlessly and fully deserved his goal whilst Alfie May still searched desperately for a return to goalscoring. He was unsuccessful, but kept the opposition defence occupied.
Perhaps the only disappointment was Willum Willumsson, who continues to flatter to deceive since his return from injury. Still, Blues have now opened up a decent gap and if they can remain unbeaten in the next two games then surely promotion should soon become a formality. Wycombe await!
