Local jazz performer Julian Smith to launch new album at top Mailbox restaurant.
Sax player and star of Britain’s Got Talent Julian Smith releases his new studio album on 13th September. Being With You is being launched at the highly-regarded Italian restaurant Lucarelli in the Mailbox on Thursday 12th September and we’re offering the chance for a pair of our readers to be there, with a meal included, as well as a vinyl copy of the album. We’re also offering three copies of the album as runners-up prizes.
From his time on Britain’s Got Talent, which first propelled Julian to stardom, he stunned the judges with his saxophone rendition of ‘from West Side Story, since then, he has never looked back. His talent and charm is what makes him the success he is today. He has expanded his love for the saxophone into his new album, live performances and online saxophone lessons.
Julian’s exciting new album Being With You features stunning new co-writes with top songwriter and record producer Glenn Keiles, mixed with beautifully arranged covers. performed by Julian. The album also features spine-tingling vocals by Julian as both California Dreamin’ and Fields of Gold bring to the fore his not very well-known, until now, incredible vocals.
The album also includes the extraordinary cover version of the Turkish classic 1980’s rock song “Donence” ft Ahmet Guven and Sibel Tuzun. Both are huge stars in their native turkey and Sibel brings her amazing haunting Turkish vocals to this new version which both Julian and Sibel have now made their own.
