Veteran Birmingham band return for Broad Street gig.
The now-legendary Brum Beat – Live at The Barrel Organ was released in 1980 and, most prominent in the 13 featured bands were the hotly-tipped Willy & The Poorboys. It didn’t work at that way, with The Quads, Swans Way and T Pau going on to have hit records. Nevertheless, Willy & The Poorboys went on to build an impressive reputation with their rocking, bar-room blues before they went their separate ways.
Some 44 years later, Willy & The Poorboys are set to begin their comeback – amazingly with their original line-up: Roger Bromley and Dave Pritchard, guitars and vocals, Phil Tree, bass guitar and vocals and Dave Griffiths, drums.
Willy & The Poorboys are set to share the stage at Henry’s Blueshouse with The Nitecrawlers at O Bar on Broad Street on Tuesday 26th March – free admission, door 7pm, the first band hits at 8pm.
