Blues net three points

Blues win at Hull with Andy Munro watching on happily.

Hull has never been a great hunting ground for Blues but maybe things are changing after this latest visit to Humberside.

However, strangely enough we looked well off the pace early on with the home side having the major share of possession but that all changed with a slightly fortuitous penalty rammed home by Troy Deeney.

This sparked us into life and apart from one close scare we kept the opposition at arms length whilst making some decent chances ourselves. John Ruddy with Auston Trusty in front of him were giants at the back and in front of them the flair of Tahith Chong, Hannibal Mejbri and Juninho Bacuna caused no end of trouble to the home defence.

However, the highlight was a wonder goal from Bacuna smashing the ball home with aplomb and from a distance that is normally only feasible in a Roy of the Rovers comic strip.

This gave us the breathing space to bring on our talented youngsters. I won’t mention Deeney’s second penalty miss in any detail as the less said about it the better, although I understand that hours later it was spotted by the Jodrell Bank telescope.

In all ways for Blues then, it’s onward and upward!
