Birmingham’s biggest wine bar announces opening date.
The latest addition to Paradise Birmingham’s food and drink scene, Vinoteca, has announced it will be opening its doors to the public on Monday 18th July.
Located at Two Chamberlain Square, the 4,500 sq ft venue will become Birmingham’s largest wine bar, with 150 covers set across a ground and mezzanine floor, 40 seats on the outdoor terrace, and an on-site wine shop for customers to take their favourite grape varieties home.
Alongside an award-winning wine list of more than 200 bins, which features 60 organic and biodynamic selections, is a menu of bar snacks, sharers, small plates and seasonal British mains. A weekly set lunch option, exclusive to the venue, has been designed by Birmingham’s head chef, using sustainable, locally sourced produce.
Inside, the interiors will evoke a relaxed Mediterranean feel, which will be brought to life by bespoke neon signs, and a hand-painted mural that is unique to the city centre site. The space will cater for private wine tastings, parties, corporate functions and more, with an external terrace providing a picture-perfect scene for summer drinks overlooking the Chamberlain Memorial Fountain.
Charlie Young, co-founder of Vinoteca said: “To be launching our first regional site in such a vibrant and dynamic city is a real milestone for Vinoteca, and we’re incredibly excited to be part of Birmingham’s well-established and respected food and drink scene. It has been brilliant seeing the venue come to life over recent weeks, and we can’t wait to open our doors and show off the new space next month.”
Rob Groves, regional development director at Paradise development manager MEPC, added: “The arrival of Vinoteca is another great addition to Birmingham’s famous culinary offering, bringing mouth-watering Mediterranean inspired food and wine to Paradise all day long. Vinoteca is in one of the best locations in the city, spilling out into Chamberlain Square and providing customers with stunning views across to Birmingham’s stunning Victorian civic buildings.
“The team at Vinoteca becomes the fourth new leisure operator to open on the estate and we look forward to welcoming further cutting-edge operators in the year ahead. Each is bringing high quality food and drink to this essential part of the city and expanding the city’s leisure offering for everyone to enjoy.”
Ahead of the opening, Vinoteca will be installing a pop-up photo booth outside its new Paradise location on Saturday 2nd July, where passers-by will be invited to join the launch celebrations and mark the occasion by taking a complimentary photo, which will entitle them to a free glass of wine on their first visit.
