Logo competition aimed at young Black Country swimmers

Get creative this Easter and design a new logo for swimming campaign.

Community stakeholder group Active Black Country and partners are running a logo competition for budding artists over the Easter break to design a logo for a swimming campaign, ‘We Can Swim’ which will launch at the Black Country Primary PE Conference on 20th May.

The swimming campaign seeks to raise standards of swimming and improve water safety levels amongst Black Country children.

Ian Carey, Director Active Black Country said: “This is great opportunity for young people to get drawing, designing and creating over the Easter break. We are launching our new ‘We Can Swim’ campaign in May, aimed at getting as many young people as possible across the Black Country to be water safe, and it will be wonderful to kick start that campaign with a logo designed by young people for young people! With the added bonus of getting people across the Black Country thinking about being safe in and around water.”

The logo will be used on all resources accompanying the campaign, and used by a range of partners to promote water activities across the region over the next eighteen months.

A judging panel will decide the winning design which will then be made into the logo for the campaign moving forward. The young person – primary or secondary school age – will receive a £50 One4all Gift Card which can be spent at over 130 different high street brands. The young person’s school will receive a £100 Sports equipment voucher.

The logo design should seek to incorporate either of the following areas and also MUST also include ‘We Can Swim’ within the logo design.
1) Being safe in and around water
2) Being able to swim/learning to swim/being confident in the water

The competition is open to Primary- and Secondary-aged young people with the deadline for submissions 5pm Friday 29th April 2022. Winners will be announced in May 2022.
